Recycling Kudos to Broomfield Dems

Through the efforts of several Party members, under the coordination and leadership of Dottie Rawsky, Party 2008 headquarters manager, the Broomfield Democrats managed to do an outstanding job of recycling candidate yard signs. This effort was a bit more complicated than might first appear. Different destinations were required for different materials. The corrugated plastic signs were transported to Arvada for recycling by Rawsky, and the wires driven to Boulder Ecocycle by Robbie Berlin. Some 150 of Rep. Dianne Primavera’s signs with the red plastic sleeve, complete with wire holders, were collected by Rawsky at headquarters for use in 2010 should Rep. Primavera elect to run again.

An additional 300 or so yard sign plastic sleeves were collected and given to Broomfield resident Carlene Bratach who, sewing several together into larger sheets, made foul weather shields for distribution to the homeless in the metro area. An article pertaining to her volunteer efforts appeared in the Broomfield
Enterprise on December 28th.
